COVID-19 Prevention, Preparedness and Response Plan for Construction

For your safety and ours, all Imperial employees and contractors will sanitize their hands prior to entering any home.  Regardless of if the homeowner opts to wears a mask during our visit, Imperial employees and contractors will wear a mask when in a client’s home and maintain 6-feet of social distancing whenever possible.

Imperial has instituted various housekeeping, social distancing and other best practices at our job-sites.  While working in our clients’ homes, project rooms will be sealed off to limit dust and other particulates from traveling around the home.  We ask that homeowners do not enter the job-area unless necessary and to wear a mask when doing so.  Our installers will wear face masks as they move about the general area of the home.  When they are the sole person in the project room, our installers may remove their masks.  At the end of the day, installers will sanitize frequently touched areas of the home (door knobs, etc).  At the conclusion of a project, the room will be vacuumed and wiped down with disinfectant.

All installers are required to self-assess their health every morning, this includes a temperature check.  Anyone who does not feel well will stay home.  All clients are requested to screen themselves daily as well and let us know if they are exhibiting symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19.  In the event of a confirmed case of COVID-19, Imperial will notify all clients, employees and contractors while staying in keeping with HIPAA guideline.

We understand that these precautions may result in a project taking longer than desired.  We ask for understanding as we do our best to work with the state’s orders to enact procedures limiting exposure to the coronavirus.

Our COVID Plan is based on documentation put forth by the Construction Industry Safety Coalition (CISC).  This coalition is comprised of over 25 industry trade associations and provides information to OSHA and contractors on important safety and health issues.  The full document concerning our procedures will soon be available for download here.
